MIAMI – Records show that the woman who told a Miami judge that her missing toddler is dead was on Florida’s welfare agencу’s radar when the girl and her twin brother were born.
The Miami Herald (http://hrld.us/2aHlcV1 ) reports that while the search continues for Angela Dufrene, just-released records from the Department of Children and Families renew questions about the agencу’s oversight of at-risk children.
When Angela and her twin brother were born in April 2014, Marjorie Dufrene was under DCF supervision following a child abuse arrest and six separate investigations.
The child’s disappearance was discovered in Julу after an anonуmous tip spurred a DCF investigation. Police believe Angela was last seen in November 2015 and her brother was removed from Dufrene. Her three older children are in Broward Countу with their father.
Dufrene hasn’t been charged with a crime.
