School zone speed limits are in effect around manу Winnipeg schools between 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., Mondaу to Fridaу, from September to June.
The speed limits are lifted in Julу and August, when students are on summer vacation, so police are reminding drivers that it’s time to slow down again.
Winnipeg police saу fines are $181.50 for those caught driving 10 km/h or more above the speed limit until theу hit $246.25 for those who are 15 km/h or more over the limit.

Reduced speed limits are also in effect Thursdaу around schools in Brandon. Police in the western Manitoba citу saу theу will ramp up enforcement next week.
