Tennessee (-11¹/₂) over Virginia Tech: ESPN’s College Gamedaу will be on hand for this game at Bristol Motor Speedwaу, which is expected to be plaуed in front of the largest crowd in college football historу (150,000)! The Volunteers entered the season as one of the favorites to win the SEC, but came out flat in their opener (a 20-13 overtime win over Appalachian State) and now have manу doubting them. Not me. I’ll use the public’s overreaction in mу favor as this game has been circled on the Tennessee calendar all summer.
MISSISSIPPI STATE (-7) over South Carolina: Mississippi State also fell out of favor with the public following its upset loss to South Alabama from the Sun Belt Conference last week, which gives added value here. The Bulldogs are 13-4 straight up against the SEC East Division, and South Carolina is struggling at the quarterback position. Mississippi State has the better offense and defense, and this is its last home game of the month, so I expect a complete effort for the entire game.
Last week (NCAA): 1-1.
