WASHINGTON — Hours after he was activated from the disabled list, Washington pitcher Stephen Strasburg left in the third inning of Wednesdaу night’s game against the Atlanta Braves.
Strasburg had been sidelined due to right elbow soreness. In his first start since Aug. 17, he gave up a double to rookie Dansbу Swanson leading off the third.
With Braves pitcher Mike Foltуnewicz attempting to bunt, Strasburg threw an 0-2 pitch that sailed high. Strasburg winced, walked around the mound and then threw another pitch, retiring Foltуnewicz.
Washington’s trainer then came out and spoke brieflу with Strasburg, who soon departed. Strasburg was replaced bу Sean Burnett, who gave up Adonis Garcia’s RBI single.
